Performance Company

Dream. Inspire. Empower.

What to Expect as a CDAI Performance Company Member:

Training & Rehearsals.

With up to 10+ hours of technical training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Hip Hop, Improvisation, & more offered throughout the week, CDAI company members are sure to excel in their training throughout each season. While some classes are optional for company members, all technique classes are mandatory to ensure dancers are excelling at similar rates and building team morale in the classroom as a team. Approximately 2-3 hours on Saturday mornings will be dedicated to company rehearsals for upcoming performances and competitions. These rehearsals will include learning group numbers with their team.

Performance Opportunities.

Group performances throughout the year are a great way for company members to give back and build morale throughout their communities. With these performances, our goal is to show our dancers the power that dance has a form of entertainment and spreading joy to audience members. SPAC’s Festival of Young Artists, a one day arts festival filled with performances of all genres, is just one example of a community performance that company members will participate in throughout the season. On top of community performances, both our Winter and Spring semesters will culminate in a Showcase performance open for family and friends. Not only do dancers get to perform for their loved ones, but they also get to show you how much progress they’ve made from the Winter to the Spring semester!

Conventions & Competitions.

The CDAI Performance Companies will attend multiple convention and competition events throughout the season competing at the regional and national level. Dancers may choose to compete solo and/or duo/trio routines on top of the group routines that are choreographed. These events will open up opportunities for members to observe other dancers their age, meet and take classes from cutting edge teachers and choreographers, open up scholarship opportunities to attend future events, and more. Depending on which Company team you’re on, you will be assigned Competition and Convention events that are mandatory for company members to attend. While some may not be mandatory, they are encouraged! All company members should be ready to work together with their teammates during training and rehearsals in order to properly prepare for competition and convention season!
